I think I could quite happily live at the Word of Mouth Wines cellar door in the heart of the city of Orange – you could wake up on the settee looking fabulous, sip a coffee on-the-house in the gorgeous garden and then start the day as you mean to go on with a glass of Isobel’s Idyll sparkling – a drop James Halliday’s 2010 Wine Companion gave a five-star rating and which also recently received the 2013 Winewise Small Vigneron Awards trophy for best sparkling.
This place is a totally eclectic & charming cellar door, tucked away on a wide side street right next to Factory Espresso (starring Bill’s Beans) café.
It’s entirely possible to make an afternoon of it on this small section of Kite Street, starting off with a coffee at the Factory and then moving onto jewellery/homewares/millinery/fashion/antique bricabrac shopping at the Cinnabar boutique within the Word of Mouth Wines cellar door (shop first, drink later = sage advice), and finally plonking yourself at the bar for a sophisticated wine tasting.
We discovered this Kite Street Tour de Force (as in ‘stroke of genius’) quite by accident on a Monday morning, so we went back on Friday afternoon to do it all over again.
You can find the Word of Mouth cellar door at 145 Kite Street, Orange, follow them on Twitter, and you can also follow Cinnabar on Facebook . You’ll find Factory Espresso – Bill’s Beans at 135 Kite Street and on Facebook too.
